Americans Are Helping Germany Once Again

"Desperate to rescue itself from disappointing performances in recent years, Germany is sending two Americans to sing and dance in the Eurovision Song Contest," writes my Fulbright buddy Jakob Comenetz for Reuters.

Three years ago, we already tried it our luck with an American music genre and cowboy hats: Germany Sends Country Band to Eurovision Song Contest

I'll guess without looking, Barry Manilow and Pat Benetar?

Pat Patterson on :

Uh oh, he's back. Apparently unaware that Pat Benetar is a woman!

Marie Claude on :

they have no chance in Russia and facing Patricia Kaas, who is a Diva there

David on :

I guess enlisting the aid of a dominatrix from Hollywood wasn't such a hot idea.

Marie Claude on :

it's all about polity, religious or ethnical empathies http://www.lexpansion.com/economie/actualite-economique/eurovision-patricia-kaas-est-elle-plus-forte-que-la-statistique_181292.html#xtor=AL-189

I find it quite sweet, how you continue to assume that most of this blogs readers have actually enough knowledge of the French language to understand the various links given by you in the past. How about some pointers to us Neanderthals who can't read it?

Marie Claude on :

use google translator, if you REALLY want to read it, but some others can without it

Pat Patterson on :

Nah, not really. It's just that your comments are generally known for two things; illogic and ignorance. The former probably due to a healthy supply of the latter. And if you had bothered to check you would have found that Jakob Comenetz has written on a variety of topics. And as a writer sometimes you either write what sells or what is thought to be worthy of sale. But unlike the opening ceremonies at the Beijing Olympics people watching Eurovision will not be scratching their heads trying to figure out if its the cute one's voice or the not so cute one's voice.

Pat Patterson on :

"Exclupate?" As the great Spanish cavalier and philospher, Inigo Montoya, once said, "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." BTW, if you can't get the little things correct then why should any pay attention to the big things?

Pat Patterson on :

You spelled exculpate correctly I misspelled it. But I drew attention to it because it was used incorrectly. I didn't realize that you were familiar with Montoya's writings. Did you study him in school or perhaps pick up a copy of his collected poems and sonnets through curiousity?

Pat Patterson on :

No, actually I provided several links that showed that Pres Clinton regretted slavery and that the US and the West benefitted from it but at no time did he apologize. Some of the harshest criticism of slavery actually came from the Presidents of Uganda and Ghana noting that it was coastal tribes that raided the interior and then built the great slave cities to ship the slaves first to the Near and Middle East then eventually to the New World. http://www.nytimes.com/1998/03/25/world/clinton-africa-overview-uganda-clinton-expresses-regret-slavery-us.html?sec=&spon=&pagewanted=2 I'm not to sure why you keep harping on this issue in spite of the overwhelming number of sources that say Clinton did not apologize. It's important to not repeat the basest of lies regardless of the point you wish to make. I was certainly no fan of Pres Clinton but it is simply inexcusable to put words in his mouth that he neither said nor intended to say. I suspect that I am wasting my time either in trying to correct some of your fact free misconceptions about the West because you have shown absolutely no inkling of what some of the posts are about or any interest in providing any facts to support some of your rather interesting points of view. This post was essentially a goof on the idea of America again coming to the aid of Europeans but instead of an invasion we sent a stripper and a lounge singer to save the day.

Pat Patterson on :

That made no sense whatsoever. Why not just read the two speeches and see if as the most powerful man on Earth at that time Pres Clintondid or did not apologize.?

Marie Claude on :

"As to the opening ceremony at the Beijing Olympics, I admire that little girl, he give me really good feeling" except that the little girl was a fake singer, the true was hidden, uh propaganda made in China ! only nice looking persons are allowed to exhibit in front of the cameras !

Marie Claude on :

"Do you believe everything happened in a hollywood movie?" that's terrible, yeah, and I am scared that the aliens are really by us now

Pat Patterson on :

Shoot, I'm still waiting for the Mole People to return.

Pat Patterson on :

It's all academic now as a Russian violinist representing Norway won. I though everyone was kidding when I heard that Dita von Tease was going to be in the competition. Why not just go for broke and use Kimber James or Jenna Jameson next year?

Pat Patterson on :

Who knew that Brooklyn was part of Ghana? Where Mike Tyson was born as well as his absentee father. The rest reads like the results of an ECT.

Pat Patterson on :

The tiniest bit of research would reveal that his father was Kenyan and his step-father was Indonesian. While Obama would be called a moke because he was born in Hawaii and is not a haole. I not to sure what you mean by "origin" here? One tiny question, did you even bother to read Comenetz's brief article about the Eurovision contest? It's barely 2 to 300 words long and makes absolutely no judgement on the events at all.

Marie Claude on :

Got to say that the Neederlanders made it LMAO http://activitypit.ning.com/profiles/blogs/andrew-breitbart-shines-at-the
